Initially when I was writing ‘Out of the Blue’ I had a different singer in mind, but as I was writing the lyrics, they suddenly became quite personal. I told my brother about it and he said ‘You can keep the good songs for yourself too, you know’, so I did, and he then produced the song with filous. Quite a lot of the lyrics I wrote sneakily during a session, where we were writing a different song. The first verse is quite literally exactly that.
