Charlotte Dos Santos hat ihre neue Single „Helio“ samt Video veröffentlicht und zeitgleich ihre neue EP „Harvest Time“ angekündigt, die am 13. März erscheinen wird. Kurz vor dem Release präsentiert THE MELLOW MUSIC Charlottes Konzert im Berliner Baketown.
„Helio“ (dem alten griechischen Wort für Sonne entlehnt), ist ein kosmischer, von flirrenden Streichern unterlegter Song, der sich um den Topos der Einsamkeit dreht, die Idee eines Lovesongs dabei quasi umkehrt und die Zuneigung ganz nach innen wendet.
Klanglich überschreitet die ausgebildete Jazzmusikerin nahtlos Genre-Grenzen und webt ihre federleichten Vocals mit ein.
Charlotte über den Song: “‘Helio’ is about self love. It is about the power we hold within ourselves and the fact that we truly only need ourselves to be happy. Helio is a result of my obsession with the universe. Cosmology, astronomy and astrology is something I can wonder and read about for hours. I have always been like this. When I was writing Helio I first started writing the song with Helio representing someone else, someone I couldn’t live without- but then I realized I was tired of writing like that because it’s simply not true- we don’t need anyone to be our center, we are our center first and foremost. So I flipped the narrative resulting in Helio representing myself, and the love for oneself.”
Charlottes neue EP “Harvest Time” wird am 13.03. via Because Music (Christine and the Queens, Metronomy) bei Caroline International veröffentlicht und enthält auch die eindringliche Single gleichen Namens, die Ende letzten Jahres erschienen war. „Harvest Time“ folgt ihrer EP „Cleo“ von 2021. Im Rahmen ihrer Europa-Tour spielt Charlotte Dos Santos in Berlin. Als Support hat sie Aaron Taylor dabei.
